I’ve always been a little reluctant to use a mineral foundation, thinking it’s going to make my skin look dry. However, whenever I do try one, I’m always left surprised at how fresh and glowy my skin looks. This PHB Ethical Beauty Mineral Foundation Kabuki set is no exception.
I have found this to be a great base for summer. It helps eliminate shine, whilst still allowing your skin to glow. It also has an SPF 30 which is a bonus (although I’d still apply a separate SPF in summer).
With a light application it immediately evens out skin tone (much like PHB Ethical Beauty’s BB Cream). It can be worn sheer, or built up to provide more coverage, although I’d still describe it as light to medium coverage. It feels incredibly light on my skin, perfect for summer (well, any time of year to be honest). I like how long lasting this is too, I’m not one for touch up’s throughout the day. Although if you are, this is ideal for popping in your bag. The 8g foundation pot is lightweight, the packaging is spill proof and the retractable kabuki brush that this comes with makes applying on the go a breeze.
Often the shade range lets a brand down. PHB Ethical Beauty Mineral Foundation is available in 12 shades from very pale to very dark. The LoveLula website helped me chose the shade Peach, described as a ‘light-medium shade with warm peach undertones for light to medium skin tones that tan easily‘. This works well for my skin at the moment as it has a bit of natural colour (along with some self tan)!
This is a product for all skin types. Mineral foundation is great for spot prone skin as it doesn’t clog pores. The light reflecting properties makes it perfect for more mature skin. Made with 100% natural ingredients, it’s an ideal choice for those with sensitive skin too. I’ve loved using the kabuki brush. It makes applying the foundation easy; soft enough not to irritate the skin, yet dense enough to work the product into the skin.
A great choice for makeup novices – you can’t go wrong. It’s also suitable for vegans and cruelty free.
