The Soil Association believes that choosing organic when it comes to health and beauty is better for you and the planet. It’s as simple as that.
But sadly Organic has become a buzzword in beauty for brands to use. Unlike organic food, there is currently no legal standard in place for organic beauty products. Look along the beauty aisles and you will find products claiming to be organic with either tiny amounts or no organic ingredients at all!
Certification with an accredited organisation is the only way to ensure your beauty products are truly organic. Brands have to pass rigorous checks to carry the prestigious Soil Association symbol, which represents quality and trust. If you see this sign, you know your product is truly organic.
The Assocation believes that organic beauty should mean just that: cosmetics and personal care products that comply to strict standards, from the beautiful plants and herbs used in the formulas to the non-organic ingredients that are left out.
So, they are calling on YOU to join their Campaign for Clarity during Organic Beauty Week and show the industry once and for all that greenwashing just won’t wash!
