John Masters Organics Haircare Heroes Part 1.

When it comes to natural and organic haircare products there can be a lot of confusion of what’s good and what’s bad. Unfortunately there are still many “organic” brands which claim to use only pure, natural ingredients in their haircare products, but in reality after close inspection, they turn out to be just as bad as their conventional beauty counterparts.

One of the brands that can be fully trusted when it comes to their ingredients is John Masters Organics Haircare line. It’s a luxurious American brand created by an expert in natural beauty field, John Masters. He created his very first organic product in 1991. Only few years later he opened his very own John Masters Organics Salon, offering all hair services apart from perm and colouring to avoid the use of chemicals.
His haircare products are exceptional, using only the best ingredients, which include cold pressed plant oils, wild-crafted botanicals, top quality steam-distilled essential oils, and many more. Over the many years I have tried almost all of John Masters Organics hair products and I have to say that they all are my favourite haircare products. Nothing beats their quality and how they perform.

As John Masters Organics haircare line is vast I thought I would divide it in at least two parts. Today I want to shine some light on my favourite shampoos.

01. John Masters Organics Evening Primrose Shampoo.

This has to be my favourite shampoo from the whole line, mostly because it was the very first natural shampoo I have used when I switched to using green beauty products back in 2009 and it was also one of my first purchases made on LoveLula website.
All John Masters Organics shampoos are Aloe Vera Leaf Juice based, which is one of the reasons why I love them so much. Aloe Vera Leaf Juice soothes the scalp and moisturises the hair. This particular shampoo is created for dry hair, but I would say that any hair type would benefit from it. It contains 17 herbs, plant extracts and essential oils. Evening Primrose Oil works as an antioxidant while moisturising and strengthening the hair. Ylang Ylang Flower Oil controls and balances sebum production. Cedarwood Oil has strong anti-dandruff and anti-inflammatory properties.
It’s very gentle on the scalp and really makes a difference when it comes to dry, brittle hair, leaving it soft and super shiny.

02. John Masters Organics Honey & Hibiscus Hair Reconstructing Shampoo.

I call this my ‘special-occasion shampoo’ mostly due to its price. However, even with its hefty price tag it’s still worth every penny. Just like the name suggests it’s a highly concentrated, reconstructing shampoo for when your hair needs that extra TLC. Honey and Hibiscus work as moisturising agents, while Linoleic and Hyaluronic Acid regenerate and strengthen damaged hair. With each wash your hair is protected against breakage and dryness. I find that every time I use it, even if I skip conditioner, my hair still looks and feels smooth and manageable. It smells fantastic too.

03. John Masters Organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner.

Yet another fantastic shampoo by John Masters Organics. It’s a very rich shampoo with conditioner, specifically targeted towards people with different scalp issues, like eczema, psoriasis, dandruff, etc. Although I do have to point out that the conditioner is wheat protein based, which means that people with dry or really coarse hair, should still use their regular conditioner afterwards to soften and detangle their hair.
Created with Zinc, which naturally helps reduce scalp irritation, and Sage with its antibacterial properties, it makes for a great natural alternative for Head & Shoulders Shampoo.
It has really helped my mum with her scalp psoriasis. Every time she would use a different shampoo her psoriasis comes back which only shows what a life saver this shampoo can be. I like to use it whenever my scalp gets itchy and during winter when I have a tendency to get dandruff. I’m also addicted to its sweet, vanilla scent. Delicious!

Have you ever tried any John Masters Organics shampoos?
