Hi! I thought I’d share some in flight skincare tips today for anyone who is off on holiday or traveling for work.
Air travel really exacerbates my combination skin- making it both oilier and drier- and disrupts my skincare regime when I’m limited to travel size products and cleansing without using water.
Here’s a few travel-sized products you can use on and off the plane!
These deep cleansing wipes are made for oily and combination skin to prevent spots, which air travel makes me prone to. These wipes are also great for taking makeup off with too. I normally take all my makeup off when I’m flying to help my skin breathe. I don’t like to cleanse my face with wipes every day, but for when you are on the go they are fantastic. Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes also look nice and gentle too.
This is my in flight skincare tip for when you are on a long haul or night flight. After cleansing your face with a wipe or cleanser of choice, massage a few drops of this travel size rosehip oil onto your face with some moisturiser. Rosehip oil is the most rejuvenating oil I have found and when I’ve used this on flights before it has really helped my skin. I use rosehip oil before bed every night too. You can find the full-sized version of this rosehip oil here.
I always bring a travel size moisturiser on board with me to keep my skin hydrated. My regular moisturiser, Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light Organic Facial Moisturiser with SPF30, isn’t travel sized, so I use air travel as an opportunity to use up some of my minis from previous LoveLula Beauty Boxes or to try travel sized moisturisers on the LoveLula website.
I’m currently trying this PHB Ethical Beauty Mini Size Brightening Moisturiser. This moisturiser is formulated for combination and normal skin. When using this at home, I personally found this was too heavy for me for daytime use with makeup, making my skin a bit shiny. For using this on night flights, I’ve been testing this as a night cream too and have had better results with it making my skin soft and radiant. For those of you without combination skin, PHB Ethical Beauty also make a mini size anti-ageing moisturiser.
This fatigue fighter is exactly what I need on flights. I don’t know about you, but I’m normally tired before I even get on the plane from last minute packing and rushing around, not to mention jet lag once I arrive, so I definitely need this!
This light-weight serum is anti ageing, and helps to diminish dark circles and puffiness. The rollerball is nice and cooling. A slight downside is that it’s a bit hard to get the serum out at the start. I have to shake it and then roll it onto the back of my hand to get the serum flowing. It’s got a bit of an odd smell but it goes away.
This isn’t just for flying and I use it every day now. I really like this product. My skin can be quite sensitive and this doesn’t irritate it. It does help to make my under-eyes look fresher and less fatigued. Although while I’ve been using this I haven’t had a day with very puffy eyes or dark circles so I can’t yet comment on how effective it is in this regard.
My last in-flight beauty tip is to stay hydrated and drink water. It really helps keep your skin happy!
